Vincit - Laas
Laas (later known as Guidin) is an employee-centric HR system designed to equip employees with the tools and support they need. The platform enables employees to share their expertise across team boundaries and seek support tailored to their individual needs.

I worked as a UI/UX designer trainee during the summer as part of the team developing Laas at Vincit

Context
While at Vincit, I assisted in designing the UI during the early stages of a new product’s development. They initially had only a rough wireframe, and my task was to establish the overall visual style, design components, UI animation, and to create the UI design.
Additionally, I was responsible for developing the visual style and UI for a mobile companion app.
Workflow
My main responsibility was to establish the overall visual style for the product and design UI assets for the design system. I primarily used Sketch for UI design and After Effects for UI animations.

In the agile environment, I collaborated closely with UX designers and developers, building strong relationships and ensuring seamless workflows. After receiving wireframes for different modes, I began by creating the necessary UI components.
Creating components
Since admin users handled a large volume of data in this product, it required an extensive set of components to support complex actions.

After designing the UI and developing components based on the wireframes, we conducted a handover meeting with the developers to review and finalize the details.

Laas Companion App
I was responsible for designing the UI for the Laas companion app, which was developed to help employees track their well-being.

Since the app was intended for casual daily use, I kept the design simple yet engaging, adding a touch of quirkiness to maintain a friendly and approachable feel.

What I learnt
Through this project, I gained valuable experience in scaling up a component library within a design system using the Atomic Design methodology.

Additionally, working in an agile environment reinforced the importance of collaboration and cross-functional teamwork in delivering effective design solutions.
